As part of a distinguished career as a portrait photographer, Jane Sebire has further developed her work documenting community groups and gardens, a selection of which are shown here. Having nurtured lasting relationships with groups such as Landlife in Liverpool, Green Estates in Sheffield and the Forgotten Fields project in Manchester, Jane’s work questions the boundaries of what we might consider to be ‘gardens’ and ‘gardeners’.
The images on display demonstrate both the surreal quality allowed by creative and ingenious urban planting and the unique human interactions it can encourage.
