Του αρχιτέκτονα Aaron Ritenour / Φωτ.: Studio 3LHD Αν και τα περισσότερα σπίτια έξω από το Ζάγκρεμπ της γειτονικής Κροατίας είναι χτισμένα με παραδοσιακό τρόπο, η συγκεκριμένη κατοικία είναι υπόδειγμα μοντέρνας αρχιτεκτονικής. Οι ιδιοκτήτες της, ένα νεαρό ζευγάρι με δύο μικρά παιδιά, ήθελαν ένα σπίτι προστατευμένο από τα αδιάκριτα βλέμματα, που να προσφέρει όμως και άπλετη θέα στο καταπράσινο δάσος της περιοχής, τα όρια του οποίου ξεκινούν από το πίσω μέρος της. The Garden Museum’s new exhibition The Plant Seekers brings to life the thrilling stories of some of history’s most fanatical plant-hunting adventurers. Plant hunting has dramatically influenced modern British gardens and has had a wider impact on our world, from its influence in medicine and science, to the role it has played in biodiversity and other environmental issues. Taking the exhibition as her inspiration the Garden Museum’s Horticultural Advisor, Sarah Price, has devised a planting scheme inspired by natural scenes of wonder that are typically reserved for plant explorers in remote parts of the world. Drawn from regions in the Southern hemisphere, mostly South Africa, the plants highlight the importance of conserving biodiverse habitats from around the world.   Woodgate show garden wins GOLD Woodgate Nursery Show garden wins GOLD, ‘Best in Show’ and ‘People’s Choice’. We would like to thank all those involved for helping us to win a gold in our first show garden entry to the Sandringham Flower show. The Woodgate team worked very hard in the build up to the show (some of whom even camped over night !) and were rewarded for all their efforts by also wining ‘Best in Show’ and ’The People’s Choice’ for the garden design. All the show gardens were judged by television garden presenters Alan Mason and Chris Beardshaw (Chelsea Gold Medal winner). The flower carpet has been a part of the Belgian capital city's traditions since 1971, when the first such carpet, consisting of thousands of begonias, was laid out. Every year since then, in August, over 750,000 flowers (usually begonias) are packed together to form a carpet at the Grand Place. The flower carpet is spread across almost 20,000 sq ft and is placed right in the center of the Grand Place, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which already draws thousands of tourists independent of the flower attractions. Με χρονικό ορίζοντα το τέλος της φετινής χρονιάς η Ομάδα Μικρών Έργων που συστάθηκε με απόφαση του υφυπουργού Ανάπτυξης Ν. Μηταράκη στοχεύει στο ξεμπλοκάρισμα 1.624 μικρών επενδύσεων φωτοβολταικών συστημάτων. Την ίδια ώρα έχει ήδη δρομολογηθεί και η διαδικασία για την επανεξέταση οκτώ μεγάλων επενδύσεων ενώ τον “δρόμο” προς τη Βουλή παίρνει μέσα στις επόμενες εβδομάδες ο νέος αναπτυξιακός νόμος το βασικό σκεπτικό του οποίου είναι η διαφάνεια, η ταχύτητα και η στόχευση. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό το χθες ο υφυπουργός Ανάπτυξης, Ανταγωνιστικότητας, Υποδομών, Μεταφορών και Δικτύων, Νότης Μηταράκης, είχε συνάντηση με την Ομάδα Ελέγχου Μικρών Έργων η οποία συστήθηκε με Υπουργική Απόφαση. Η ομάδα η οποία  θα έχει ως έργο τον Διοικητικό έλεγχο των μικρών έργων με στόχο την ταχύτερη αποπληρωμή των επιχορηγήσεων στους επενδυτές,  εγκαθίσταται στο Κέντρο Εξυπηρέτησης Επενδυτών στην Κοραή.
